This is the first sentence on my notes on the first day of sports tour in Lloret de mar, Éspana, after a 26 hour coach journey...yes it was as bad as it sounds. Sports vest is basically a four day piss-up in sunny Spain with maybe one day of actual sport and a bunch of other university sports teams.
Tour, in my opinion, has become a right of passage for many sports teams across the UK. When I went, 'tour freshers' were basically punished and made fun of by their tour seniors, kind of like a four day initiation (it's all fun and games of course) and both freshers and seniors get absolutely wrecked every night on some green, suspicious looking cocktail called a Green Monster and dance on tables.
There are many sights to behold on tour, drunken young adults stumbling down foreign streets at 5am looking for their hotel, people getting it on in the middle of the club, and witnessing what can only be described as horrific disgustingness in court (pre drinks where people get punished for the dumb shit they do).
